Bollywood's Mr. perfection Aamir Khan is all set to regain his top position at the box office with his recent big-budget action thriller 'Dhoom: 3'. The third film of Yash Raj Film's 'Dhoom' series has collected a whopping Rs 69.58 crore, including earnings from Tamil and Telugu versions, in just two days of its release.
Also starring Katrina Kaif, Abhishek Bachan and Uday Chopra, 'Dhoom: 3' released on December 20 to mixed reviews. But it seems the box office collections are satisfactory.
The Vijay Krishna Acharya film collected a total of Rs 36.22 crore on the opening day beating Shah Rukh Khan's 'Chennai Express and Hrithik Roshan's 'Krrish 3'. There was a slight dip in the collections on Saturday as the movie managed to collect Rs 33.36 crore.
'Dhoom: 3', which was low on promotions (purposely), dhoom received a spectacular response oversees.
Noted film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted: "All records shattered! #Dhoom3 takes the BIGGEST start ever [Hindi films] in USA-Canada. Collects $ 3.3 million [20.49 cr] in opening wekend." In UK though the film had a great collection but could not beat shah Rukh Khan's 'Chennai Express, as Taran Adarsh informs: "#Dhoom3 - UK: Fri £ 249,596, Sat £ 321,609. Total: £ 571,205 [5.79 cr]. Some screens yet to report. Chennai Express opening wekend £ 934,118."
